For all PE electives STUDENTS NEED: • KIS P.E. uniform and gym shoes.
• Lock - Students are required to bring a sturdy combination lock from home.

Body Conditioning
MAIN IDEA: Good health is important to be at your best physically, emotionally, and mentally. Obtaining knowledge, skills, and habits in exercise and nutrition are important to be independent and functional. Whether it is training for sports or just obtaining a higher level of fitness, learning what exercise and proper nutrition does for your body and mind are important for every individual throughout life.
OBJECTIVE: The objective of body conditioning is to introduce and explore ways to improve strength, speed, quickness, power, aerobic and anaerobic conditioning and endurance. Students will learn basic human anatomy, weight training exercises, and exercises to improve fitness, health, and athletic performance.
ASSIGNMENT EXPECTATIONS:

Team Sports
MAIN IDEA: Learning the formula for success in a team sports can be a valuable tool to apply in any team setting. Students will learn about teamwork, and positive communication.
OBJECTIVE:
The objective in team sports is to introduce and explore the elements for success in team sports which include leadership skills, creating a positive environment, working with others, sportsmanship, communication, team and individual (role) responsibilities, work ethic, attitude, team cohesion (relationships), and setting team goals. Students will also learn skills and concepts used in team sports and apply them in a game setting.
ASSIGNMENT EXPECTATIONS:
1. Wear P. E. uniform and gym shoes daily.
2. Participate daily in all activities.
3. Learn the various skills of taught sports.
4. Demonstrate good sportsmanship.
5. Learn proper behavior in a social situation.
