Library Skills

OBJECTIVES:  

1.  Develop skills in information retrieval and production.

2.  Appreciate the school library as an information center, which provides courteous and 

      efficient service to students and staff.

3.  Demonstrate work attitudes and habits in consonance with the standards acceptable in the 

      school library.


DESCRIPTION:  This introductory course for the intermediate school level focuses on research skills and is designed to develop an appreciation of the library as an information center.  This multidisciplinary course will introduce students to various reference materials in the library and utilizing the online educational databases provided by the DOE. The course will provide opportunities to apply skills learned and share them with others. Service Learning is an integral component of the course.
