ABSENCES
Please call the attendance line if your child is unable to attend school due to an illness or for a personal reason. The attendance line is a 24-hour answering machine. Just follow the simple instructions that you will hear. Once you have called in the absence, you do not need to send a note upon the child’s return to school. To reach the attendance line call the 307-1400 and listen for the prompt.
If you are unable to call the school, please send a note with the child upon their return. This note should state the reason and duration of the absence (have your child bring the note to the main office and not to their teacher).
TARDIES
If your child must be late to school for any reason, it is the responsibility of the parent/guardian to write a note stating the reason for the tardy. A tardy will be considered as unexcused tardy if a student comes to school without a note.
FUTURE ABSENCES
If you have future plans that include the student's absence from school, (ex., a trip, future medical plans, etc.), please send a note ahead of time with your child stating the reason for the future absence and the date that he/she will be missing school. Please bring this note to the main office.
OFF-CAMPUS PASS
If you need to have your child released early from school to for an appointment off campus, please write a note and send it with your child to school on the day of the appointment. The note should state what type of an appointment (ex: court, doctor, orthodontist, etc.), the appointment location (ex: Honolulu, Kailua, Kaneohe, etc.), and the time of release. The child must bring the note to the main office (not to their teacher) either before school or during recess. Please do not call the school to have your child released. Parents or legal guardians must come in to the main office or health room to show a picture ID to sign out their child.
Students will not be released to any individual that is not a parent or legal guardian unless that person is listed on the student’s emergency card.
Note: students may not be taken off campus for lunch unless you have obtained prior administrative approval.
